MomoCon in Atlanta, Georgia reportedly shut down nine hours early on Sunday morning. Multiple unconfirmed reports state some people attempted to set off fireworks inside the building where the convention was being held. The police officers that responded allegedly forced the convention to close early.

The MomoCon forums have been taken offline. A MomoCon representative in a post on the AnimeCons.com Forums has stated this was done "to curb wild speculation and rumor".

MomoCon is expected to release an official statement about Sunday's closing.
