Please Note:
AnimeCons.com will only reprint news that it feels qualifies as "news" related to an anime convention or event. Press releases that do not contain any actual news or announcements related to anime and/or related to the event will not be reprinted. Below are some examples to help you understand what we will usually print and what we will not print.

Some common examples:

  • We will not print a press release about comic book artists attending a comic show or sci-fi actors attending a sci-fi con. We only print anime-related news at conventions.
  • We will not print a press release "announcing" guests who have been previously announced or have been listed on the convention's web site for a week or two. That's old news.
  • We will not print a news item or press release every single time a convention announces a new guest. (Groups are okay...spamming us with people one at a time every few days is not.)
  • Sending us rules for a contest is not a press release. Please don't assume that putting a paragraph before and after a list of rules makes it okay.
  • Opening pre-registration for your event is not news. Cutting it off because it's full is. (Refer to man bites dog.)
  • If you are sending us a new press release almost every day, you are sending us too many. Don't be surprised if we stop posting most of them. Also, you may discover that when you send out releases too frequently, people start to ignore you...as if you're always over their shoulder shouting, "Hey listen!"
  • Remember, using ® or ™ once (on the first occurrence of the word or phrase) is plenty. Putting it on every occurrence is excessive. [more info]
